Bharathidasan recently released an emotional video testimony revealing that after he flagged prolonged delays in releasing his sanctioned scholarship stipend, university authorities and bureaucratic officials initiated retaliatory actions, jeopardizing his academic standing and doctoral enrollment. Terming the retaliation a grave act of social injustice unfolding ironically on Social Justice Day, Udhayanidhi criticized the ruling apparatus for seeking to suppress legitimate student grievances through intimidation rather than accountability. He underscored that penalizing a student from a marginalized community for demanding sanctioned educational funding strikes at the very foundation of affirmative action and educational access. Drawing a direct parallel to the institutional harassment that culminated in the tragic death of Rohith Vemula at the University of Hyderabad, Udhayanidhi warned against administrative hostility pushing vulnerable scholars into systemic despair. He demanded that the government immediately halt all retaliatory proceedings, release Bharathidasan's long-pending fellowship dues without delay, and ensure an unconditional academic pathway for his research to continue unhindered.
