Udhayanidhi Stalin Demands CB-CID Probe into Madurai Schoolboy's Suspicious Death, Condemns Police Intimidation of Grieving Family

Tamil Nadu Leader of the Opposition and DMK Youth Wing Secretary Udhayanidhi Stalin has strongly condemned the Madurai district police for booking criminal cases against the family of a schoolboy who died under mysterious circumstances. Nearly two weeks after the student's demise, local law enforcement has failed to uncover the facts surrounding the tragedy, focusing its machinery instead on suppressing public protests and intimidating the bereaved parents. Udhayanidhi criticized the utter insensitivity of police officials, who went to the extent of serving interrogation summons to the deceased boy's differently-abled relative. Denouncing the administrative retaliation as a grave injustice, Udhayanidhi emphasized that penalizing grieving citizens for demanding answers exposes alarming institutional apathy under the ruling dispensation. Rather than crushing democratic dissent and criminalizing vulnerable working-class households, law enforcement agencies must remain accountable to the public and act decisively against perpetrators of violent crime. Calling for direct intervention by the Chief Minister, the Opposition Leader demanded an immediate transfer of the investigation to the Crime Branch-CID (CB-CID) to conduct an unhindered, transparent probe into whether the student was murdered. He insisted that investigators identify and prosecute all responsible culprits without political interference, while immediately dropping all retaliatory criminal charges registered against the boy's family to ensure complete justice.
